Black Dog by Led Zeppelin
I think everyone should listen to this song at least once. It is definitely one of my top favorite songs. The first time I listened to this song I thought it was one of the coolest songs I have ever heard. The vocals are strong and intense, but I do not think the main focus of this song is the vocals. I can't quite understand what they are saying in the song, but that's not the point. The best part of this song is the instruments. The electric guitar is amazing and very powerful. The percussion also adds to the power of this song. When I think of classic rock and roll I think of this song. I really love how the song progresses from quite to big and loud. It makes the song more exciting to listen to. I like how the guitar pauses while the vocalist sings and then once the vocalists stops the guitar starts again. It shows the strength in both parts.
I really liked your analysis of this song! I hadn't listened to this song before but I agree with you that this sounds like very classic rock n roll to me. It definitely has a cool style with the strong guitar and then the pause when the singer comes in.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that this song is a classic rock 'n' roll song and everyone should hear it at least once. I also noticed the variation between the vocals and the guitar, especially that the guitar completely stopped and didn't just hold out a note as the vocals happened. That is something that I feel like you don't hear too often: acapella mid song.
ReplyDeleteI think this song is super dope, it definitely just has the vibe of what you think of when you think “classic rock”. I love your assertion that everyone has to listen to this song once in their life. You mentioned the intensity of the vocals, and I love this style of singing, and it was definitely prevalent in this genre at the time.
ReplyDeleteI agree that everyone should listen to this song at least once. This is such a good song. I also agree that the instruments are the best part of the song. The electric guitar is super strong and definitely leaves an impression on the listener. This song is a good representation of the rock n roll that I've learned to love. The progression in volume definitely adds character to the song, so I liked that too. Great job!
