Homecoming by Kanye West

Ye is one of my most favorite artists. He's kinda crazy and I love it. I love his voice and his swagger. He's got a lot of confidence. This is definitely shown a lot in his song Homecoming. The piano is this song is very powerful and really makes this song a lot more iconic. Kanye uses a variety of rhythms while rapping this song and it makes it a lot more exciting to listen to. The lead singer of Coldplay is also featured in this song and I absolutely love him, especially in this song. He is known for having really good piano parts in his song, so it's only fitting that he's in this song. Kanye does songs with some of the coolest artists that you would never expect, but once he does it's always really good. I highly recommend listening to this song if you haven't already.

Nights by Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean has been one of my top artists for a couple years now. He is absolutely amazing. His music overall is a master piece. Nights, is definitely one of his most well written songs. It has such intricate beats. The song is separated into two parts. The transition between the two is amazing. It kind of feels like you are going through a portal into another world. The transition creates a great amount of suspense and tension with in your brain, that I have never experience ever in my life from another song. And once the tension releases from one specific note, the song turns smooth like butter. This part makes me want to close my eyes and just move to the beat, which I have definitely done before. He uses a variety of rhythms in his voice through out the song, from slow prolonged notes to short quick ones. he also makes his voice echo in parts which adds to the effect of the song. Frank Ocean is a genius and his music is incredible. If you haven't gone and listened to every si...

Graceland- Paul Simon

I am obsessed with this song I have been for months now. It makes me so happy. I love the instruments. The guitar especially. I love how catchy it is, but it's not annoying about it. It's so cheery, but also relaxing. It just reminds me of sunshine and being outdoors, two of my most favorite things. I love songs that bring me more happiness and help me to destress. I love how each of the parts of the song don't overpower each other. I love the instrumental at the beginning, that builds up suspense for the song and then you finally hear his voice. His voice is so unique and calm. I am just obsessed with this song and have listened to it lots. Everyone needs to listen to this song at least one. It's just great and hopefully you feel as happy as I do when I listen to it. Paul is the man. this song is a ten out of ten.

Thriller-Michael Jackson

This song is a classic and reminds me of Halloween as well as my mom's side of the family. My mom's side can't get enough of Mr. Jackson. His songs really are very catchy and fun and no one makes music like him. He played such a huge role in music today as well as dance styles. Thriller specifically, is one of a kind it takes a more of a modern spin on spooky Halloween music. It's got great instrumental parts to build up the suspense within the song. The vocals are very powerful, which also add to the song as well. The only sad thing is that Michael Jackson has been claimed to be a pedophile and has been accused of doing some really awful things. Knowing this has made it hard to look at his music the same and enjoy it the same as I used to. I don't really want to get into all of the negative parts, but I do want to acknowledge that there is some darkness within the music industry.

I Shot the Sheriff- Eric Clapton

I didn't even realize the Bob Marley isn't the writer of this song. This original version is different from the Bob Marley version. The version I know the best is laid back and more of a reggae style. It reminds me of sitting out on my grandpa's boat as my grandpa and aunts and uncles would sing along. That versions brings back nostalgic memories. I feel some of those emotions while listening to the original, but this version has a completely different feel. This version has a faster tempo and gives a more funky disco beat. I really like this version though. The best description is chill hippie disco music. This song is definitely my vibe. I will definitely continue to listen to this version. I really do think this song is cool. The instruments in this are very different from the reggae version that adds to the more funky disco style. Also side note I think the album cover looks pretty cool as well. I am too lazy to put it in my post but if you actually look it up you'...

Black Dog by Led Zeppelin

I think everyone should listen to this song at least once. It is definitely one of my top favorite songs. The first time I listened to this song I thought it was one of the coolest songs I have ever heard. The vocals are strong and intense, but I do not think the main focus of this song is the vocals. I can't quite understand what they are saying in the song, but that's not the point. The best part of this song is the instruments. The electric guitar is amazing and very powerful. The percussion also adds to the power of this song. When I think of classic rock and roll I think of this song. I really love how the song progresses from quite to big and loud. It makes the song more exciting to listen to. I like how the guitar pauses while the vocalist sings and then once the vocalists stops the guitar starts again. It shows the strength in both parts.

Be My Baby

I already know this song, but I love it. It's very cute. It reminds me of many movies I watched as a kid. This song is a classic. It's catchy and repetitive, so it is easy to get stuck in your head.  I love the first beginning notes. I think those first couple claps and drum beats grab your attention. I think that's an important part of a song. I still have the chorus "be my, be my baby," stuck in my head. This song was probably so popular because the only way to get it out of your head is to listen again. It is like an itch you can not scratch, well at least until you actually listen to the song. I love how there is one girl singing for parts and then a whole chorus singing together and harmonizing. I think this adds variety to the song. I like the variety of volumes in the singers as well. They will sing loud with great power of soft and quiet. I am actually listening to this song in my living room and my roommates are singing along. I guess They like it too, w...
