My Blue Heaven

 I have chosen to listen to "My Blue Heaven'' sung by Gene Austin. This song feels very romantic to me. I love the cello because I play the cello. I think the cello always makes a song better and definitely adds to the romantic feel. I think the cello also adds a more classy feel to the song. I just feel like string instruments make everything more classy. I may be biased because I was a part of an orchestra and have found a great appreciation for string instruments. The background noises of the birds reminds me of the birds that sing along with Cinderella. I would have to say this song reminds me of a sweet fairy tale, similar to Cinderella. The title also plays into that, "My Blue Heaven" seems very fairy tale-like to me. I think the piano adds a playful aspect to the song and gives more life to the song. It also contrasts with the slurred and smooth singing style. The peaceful and cheery mood this song gives, is probably why it was so popular because you can just be carefree as you listen to it. I know I always enjoy songs that can help me to let go of my worries.
